Program Assistant

The Junior Achievement of New Mexico Programs Department is looking for a Program Assistant that has a passion for community and a love for NM's K-12 students. The Program Assistant will operate within established procedures and guidelines to assist the Programs Department by providing administrative support in areas related to Programs, Special Events, and other projects, as needed. Some in- and out-of-town travel required. The Program Assistant will be required to use their own vehicle, and will be compensated for mileage. The candidate must be detail oriented, organized, and have strong time management, communication and critical thinking skills as well as excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Virtual Portals, etc.), and can function effectively under pressure. Title: Program Assistant
Area: New Mexico
Reports to: Program Director
Status: Full-Time, Hourly


Primary Responsibilities:

Provide all program support including but not limited to, class
confirmations, volunteer confirmations, email blasts, volunteer/teacher
match letters, and service calls.
*Track and file volunteer forms.
* Pick up and deliver various items for JA of NM.
* Run required reports to better assist the team.
* Assist Program staff in maintaining database information on all
programs and participants.
* Enter, file, and maintain all data for program projects and events.
* Prepare, order, distribute, and maintain inventory of all program
materials.
* Greet visitors and answer phones as needed; provide customer service
and support.
* Provide telephone and email communication to volunteers, teachers,
and community members.
* Assist with major fundraising and education events as needed, which
may require working weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
* Assure program efficiency through teacher, volunteer phone calls,
mailings, and service.
*Assist with the planning logistics of event(s); inform volunteers,
teachers, school administrators, and the business executives of
event(s); plan and distribute appreciation materials.
* Other projects as required.

Qualifications (required)

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Some travel within New Mexico required. The Program Assistant will be required to use own vehicle but will be compensated for mileage.

Qualifications (desired)

Must be detailed oriented and excellent with time management. Possess great oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; organization
and planning skills; critical thinking skills; and problem-solving skills. Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Virtual Portals, ect.), and can function effectively under pressure.
